Are you looking for a research opportunity in biofuels?
Working on a research project co-funded by the European Framework this is a two-year position investigating the hydrolysis of plant biomass by the action of recombinant enzymes.
As a researcher on the project your role will include:-
*Using recombinant systems to produce enzymes for analysis
*Investigating the saccharification of plant biomass
*Providing novel solutions to challenges and obstacles
*Regular reporting of the project, progress, issues and outcomes including making recommendations for research direction and consulting with key stakeholders on research options
*Forming and maintaining links with remote teams and consortium members
This role requires experience in the following areas and applications not demonstrating relevant experience will not be considered:-
*Recombinant enzyme production and purification
*Developing and running mid- to high-throughput enzyme assays
*Qualitative and quantitative analytical methods for proteins and sugars (including HPLC)
Experience of molecular biology and biochemistry research in the area of biofuels would be an advantage.
Successful candidates will:-
*Have significant experience in a laboratory role
*Have the ability to take advice and direction from business leads
*Have proven ability to identify options for research direction in ambiguous situations
*Be a confident communicator and able to work and liaise with cross functional teams and third parties
*Be eligible to travel within the EU and USA
