A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced molecular biologist / biochemist to join a growing biotechnology company based in the London area. As an organisation they are committed to the development of innovative and cutting-edge diagnostic products that will revolutionise the healthcare industry. This is an opportunity for experienced 'product development minded' Scientist to join a highly technical and multidisciplinary team, within a company who are entering a very exciting period of growth.
As a Next Generation Sequencing Scientist you will join the NGS Team and you will be responsible for technology development of a sequencing process. An important aspect of the role will be to ensure that the process is compatible with the NGS platform.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Design of experiments relating to NGS technology development and in-depth data analysis. Proactive interaction with other NGS teams to ensure alignment of results.
- Literature and patent work for technology development.
- Participating in the integration of technology into the platform.
- Management of the necessary documentation.
- Management of a small team of Research Associates.
To be considered for this position you must be educated to a minimum of MSc/PhD level in a related subject. This academic background will be coupled with proven industrial experience in the development of molecular in-vitro diagnostic or next-generation sequencing technologies. It is essential that candidates have a strong background and understanding of NGS workflows - ideally developing NGS sequencing chemistries related to semi-conductor based methods. You will have the drive and enthusiasm for innovation, and solving problems within a multi-disciplinary team
