My client based in the Hertfordshire area is a leader working within Antibody therapeutics. My client is currently seeking an experienced Scientist who holds a background within either upstream or downstream process development within the manufacture of biotherapeutics.

The Scientist (Upstream/Downstream) will form part of the Biotherapeutic Development Team, working on the development and manufacture of a range of novel biological agents from Monoclonal antibodies to Gene/Cell Therapy products.

The main responsibilities of the Scientist (Upstream/Downstream) will be:

* Take a lead on the development of either the Upstream or Downstream biomanufacturing process. (Monoclonal Antibody, DNA to Viral Vector, Cell Therapy)* Develop, optimise and scale up processes for manufacture of GMP Biopharmaceutical products (Primarily Mammalian Expression systems).* Maintenance, operation and validation of processes and equipment* Specific tasks dependent on work area (Upstream/Downstream)

To be considered for the roles, candidates will hold strengths within different areas of the following experience:

* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) within a relevant scientific area* Strong industry experience in Biotechnology/Biopharmaceuticals in a GMP environment* Strong experience within upstream and/or downstream biomanufacturing processes.* Experience in the development and scale up of processes from mammalian expression systems.* Experience in areas including Cell Culture, Bioreactor Technology, Protein Purification within a GMP environment.
