Technical Manager (Director Designate) - FMCGYorkshire To £45,000 + Equity potentialOur client is a very well-established and very successful FMCG business. Due to a vacancy arising within the Technical team the business is looking to appoint a high caliber Technical Manager (Director designate) to work with the executive team. The individual should have strong experience in QA gained within a manufacturing background ideally supplying the top 4 grocers within non-food FMCG. Our client is offering the potential for an equity ownership of this very profitable business within 2 -3 years as the Technical Director is due to retire in this time.As Technical Manager (Director designate) you will:* Be responsible for the day to day management of a small team of office based technologists both here in the UK and in China that provide technical support to the sales team and clients as and when required* Manage both the audit program for 3rd and 2nd party quality and ethical audits for a range of manufacturing sites in the UK and Europe* Oversea and review the specification process with clients and manufacturing partners.* Manage the Medical Device Category (First Aid) on a day to day basis* Provide legislative advice and action plans to ensure the business is not exposed by future changesThe successful candidate will have a proven track record of:* Quality or Technical management functions of any medium to large nonfood FMCG (or similar) business supplying the grocery and pharmacy sectors (any non food FMCG will be relevant as the company are happy to train on their Med Device business)* Applying a strong understanding of retail quality and ethical requirements* Adapting and managing change in a demanding and dynamic business* Working with and managing quality management systems such as ISO9001/13485, BRC, FSC and PEFCThe Board will want to see evidence of the following personal qualities:* An ambitious leader looking to forge a long-term career path, hungry for professional challenges* Someone who is calm under pressure and of strong character - not afraid to challenge current methods and suggest improvements* Positive attitude for professional self-improvement and that of fellow colleagues* A pragmatic and commercial approach to quality and ethical issuesThis is a new and exciting opportunity to join a market leading and well respected business in an executive partner capacity.
