Supplying products and services to a wide variety of chemicals based industries they are now looking to strengthen their laboratory team by hiring an experienced Organic Chemist to take on a role in process development. This opportunity offers the chance to join a small team and not only be involved in laboratory experimentation, but also project management, technical service and manufacturing trials. Perhaps you are an experienced organic chemist looking to take the next step in your career, or maybe you already undertake this type of role but would like more autonomy in a smaller business, either way we would like to hear from you.Key responsibilities:

* Laboratory based process development work on a wide range of chemical intermediates predominantly for the Pharmaceutical and Agro Chemical industries* Performing experiments to improve yield, improve product quality and reaction conditions etc.* Dealing with technical service including enquiries from existing and prospective customers* Project management and scale-up of existing and new chemical processes* Technical support for pilot plant/production scale manufacturing* Visits to manufacturing sites in India and occasionally China - Twice per year, 10 - 14 days per trip* Regular contact with manufacturing sites to take updates on projects* Presenting information back to customers both in writing and on the phoneKey requirements:* Educated to degree level or above in Chemistry with process development experience * Experience and enthusiasm for hands-on practical organic synthesis and related scale-up work* Project management skills preferred* Team player with good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.* Flexibility to travel to manufacturing partners in India and ChinaIn return the company are offering flexible working hours and genuine autonomy.
