SRG awarded Silver status by Investors in People
Setting the standard for better people management since 1991, Investors in People defines what it takes to lead, support and manage people for sustained success. Companies achieving Investors in People status are regarded as the very best in the world when it comes to managing their talent. The four levels of accreditation are Accredited, Silver, Gold and Platinum. SRG’s Silver status puts it in the top 3% of IIP-accredited businesses in the UK.
Kelly Morton, Managing Director for SRG, said: “Considering this was our first application to IIP, achieving Silver is a fantastic achievement.”
The Investors in People standard assesses organisations on: leading and inspiring people; living their company values; empowering and involving people; managing performance; recognising and rewarding high performance; structuring work; building capability; delivering continuous improvement; and creating sustainable success.
As well as describing the capabilities that organisations need in order to succeed, the standard also highlights the small steps they can take to achieve excellence. For SRG, Silver accreditation represents what they hope will be the beginning of a longer journey. Morton continued: “Whilst there are a number of areas that we need to focus on to move SRG towards Gold, then Platinum, we are in a very strong position to continue on our journey towards excellence. I’d like to thank every member of the SRG team for their contribution and I look forward to working with them to attain even higher accreditation in the future.”

SRG to open new office in Boston, Massachusetts
Our North America operation specialises in clinical research staffing across clinical operations, biometrics, scientific, regulatory affairs, drug safety and pharmaceutical engineering. This will be SRG’s second North America office location, having originally set up in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Boston operation will allow SRG to expand its reach across North America’s east coast, providing expert clinical research staffing and recruitment services to the broad based clinical research community.
Practice Director Shane Wilkins will lead the Boston team with driving the recruitment of roles such as: clinical research associates, clinical study managers, clinical project managers, clinical trial associates, SAS programmers, statistical programmers, biostatisticians, clinical data managers, drug safety associates, medical writers, analytical chemists, formulation chemists, molecular biologists, lab technicians and process engineers.
The new office will be located at 300 Trade Center, Suite 3610, Woburn, MA 01801.

SRG launches 2017 Salary Survey in conjunction with New Scientist
SRG selects star females in support of global women in science day
Managing Director Kelly Morton was particularly keen to get involved: “My choice is Rosalind Franklin, a chemist who made a huge contribution to our understanding of the molecular structures of DNA, RNA, viruses, coal and graphite. But there are countless other hugely talented female scientists who have really led the way in their fields. SRG is very proud to be part of International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2017 and in asking our team to share their picks, we hope to raise awareness of this important global event and to generate productive debate.”
Established in December 2015 as the result of a UN resolution calling for an international day recognising the role of women and girls in science and technology, the initiative aims to promote female participation in education, training and research activities at all levels. The resolution declared 11th February every year as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
As Kelly continued, there’s still plenty of work to do: “A study conducted in 14 countries reveals that the probabilities of female students graduating with a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctor’s degree in science-related fields are 18%, 8% and 2% respectively, while the percentages for male students are 37%, 18% and 6%. International Day of Women and Girls in Science aims to change this through the full and equal participation of females in science, eliminating gender inequality and empowering women and girls to continue to achieve great things.”
SRG attains level 1 Disability Confident status
Established by the Department for Work and Pensions, the Disability Confident Scheme aims to help businesses successfully employ and retain disabled people and those with health conditions. By providing the tools, guidance, advice and recognition that employers need to recruit from the widest possible pool of talent, the scheme ensures that disabled people have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations. This accreditation recognises SRG’s hard work in addressing the needs of disabled employees and candidates.
Kelly Morton, Managing Director of SRG, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have achieved level 1 accreditation in the Disability Confident Scheme. We hope that this will demonstrate our longstanding commitment to supporting those with disabilities and provide a clear message both for our employees, and any other disabled people who might be interested in joining SRG, that we have a positive approach to employing disabled people.”
Disability Confident Committed Employer status represents level 1 of the three-tiered scheme, which is designed to support businesses on their Disability Confident journey. A company at level 2 is known as a Disability Confident Employer while an employer at level 3, the top level, is known as a Disability Confident Leader.
Accordingly, Kelly was keen to stress that SRG’s disability journey is far from over. She continued: “Although we’ve made some fantastic progress, there’s a lot of work still to do. As part of our commitment, we will ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible; communicate and promote vacancies; offer an interview to disabled people; anticipate and provide reasonable adjustments as required; support any existing employee who acquires a disability or long term health condition, enabling them to stay in work; and carry out at least one activity that will make a difference for disabled people. I’d like to thank our employees for their help in getting us to level 1 and I look forward to working with them to continue progressing SRG’s Disability Confident journey.”

* Individual Choice (we had to show in the words of a candidate how we offered guidance and support throughout the recruitment process, evidence the disability confidence and competence of the recruiter and relay the positive impact and outcome for the candidate).

SRG raises over £9,000 for children’s charities
Aiming to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses, When You Wish Upon a Star has been making a difference to children’s lives since 1990 and we’re really proud to support them.
In addition to this, we have taken part in various other charitable activities including the Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising £252.29 and Christmas Jumper Day, raising £104 for Save the Children.
