Cell-based Assay SpecialistFTC CambridgeshireMy client is a world leader in drug discovery and development. They specialise in small drug molecules utilising a novel high-throughput assay discovery platform. Their biology group is seeking an assay biologist to assist in the drug discovery process. The candidate will be experienced in assay development for the screening of small molecules. They will work within a multi-disciplinary team taking projects from hit identification to lead optimisation.Responsibilities of the role include:- Develop screening assays for individual drug targets.- Establish the mechanism of action through biochemical characterisation.- Take initiative in the investigation and implementation of novel assay techniques.- Act as a subject-matter expert in enzymology within the team.- Liaise with other teams within the company, sharing knowledge and expertise.The ideal candidate will:- hold a PhD in enzymology/protein biochemistry or equivalent. - have extensive relevant post-doc experience in either an academic or industrial setting. - have a proven track record in assay development including fluorescence polarisation and other imaging methods.- Strong team-work skills, communication skills and an excellent attention to detail are also required. - Knowledge of the drug discovery process is desirable.If this sounds like you, please apply online or contact Amie Regan on 1223 235 203 or 01223 234 768, or email for further details.
