SeniorScientist- Biologist/ Biochemist My client is a world leader in drug discovery and development based in Cambridgeshire. They specialise in small drug molecules utilising a novel high-throughput assay discovery platform. Their multidisciplinary group is seeking a biologist or biochemist with specific experience and background in cellular biochemistry. The candidate will be experienced in in vitro cell biology and use of model systems for the screening of small molecules. They will work within a multi-disciplinary team taking projects to completion testing lead compounds against cancer targets.Responsibilities of the role include:-Develop cell biology and biochemical approaches to support clinical compound development for the treatment of oncological disease.-Support of the evaluation of the biochemistry of these novel clinical compounds.-Take initiative in the investigation and implementation of novel assay techniques, in the areas of cell signalling (e.g. effect on transcription).-Act as a subject-matter expert in the biology of cell signalling as potential for therapeutic targeting and potential treatment limitations.-Liaise with other teams within the company, sharing knowledge and expertise.-Liaise with external collaborators and CROs, disseminating results and information where appropriate and to agreed timeframes.The ideal candidate will;-hold a PhD in oncology, biology, biochemistry or other related subject (preferable).-have relevant post-doc experience in either an academic or industrial setting. -have a proven track record in a range of cell and molecular biology techniques, including novel molecule discovery and cancer cell line culture.-strong team-work skills, communication skills and an excellent attention to detail.If this sounds like you, please apply online or contact Amie Regan on 01223 235 203, for further details
