Drug Discovery Programmes- Team LeadMy client is a leader in drug discovery and development based in Cambridgeshire. They specialise in small drug molecule discovery utilising a novel screening system. Their group is seeking a team leader to drive the drug discovery process. They have a healthy pipeline of novel molecules at various stages of the drug discovery process. The candidate will be experienced in managing multiple projects, with significant line management experience. They will lead a multi-disciplinary team, assisting in taking projects from hit identification to lead optimisation.Responsibilities of the role include:-Plan, develop and manage programmes for individual drug targets and small molecule discovery.- Project management of collaborations and relationships with external stakeholders and service providers. This will include CROs (both chemistry and in vivo services) and academic collaborators.-Provide effective line management for a multi-disciplinary team to ensure projects are completed in a timely and effective manner. This includes resource planning and any anticipating training needs, delivering appropriate training where necessary.- Liaise with management to develop future strategic plans for the company and workflow based on available and predicted resources.- Prepare and present reports on programme status and progress. The ideal candidate will have:-BSc (minimum) with extensive post-graduate experience in structural biology, drug discovery and target discovery.-Significant experience leading multiple drug discovery projects. - Experience in line management of a multi-disciplinary team.- Strong team-work skills, communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
