Production Engineer - Hertfordshire - CNC - £45,000 - £55,000 per annum + BenefitsSRG are currently recruiting for a Production Engineer with CNC machining experience to join a Global manufacturing company in North London on a permanent salary of circa £45,000 - £55,000 per annum + Benefits.Main purpose of roleTo support the Production Engineering team and provide day to day manufacturing and production engineering support to the production system to deliver finished product to the required quality, cost and delivery.Key tasksThe job holder will be responsible for undertaking the following tasks:Organisational  Support the Director, Global Operations & Custom Devices in delivering smooth and effective support to the manufacturing business. Support Operations and Supply Chain Manager to achieve the company objectives and goals. Communicates by "exception" risk and/or concerns in time to allow recovery action planning.  Ensures all company procedures are adhered to. Deals with constraints or secures support/assistance of Director, Global Operations & Custom Devices. Promote high level of housekeeping throughout manufacturing environment to 5S standard. Control and supervision of overtime working by prior agreement with the Director, Global Operations & Custom Devices. Ensures processes tools and technique are developed to "best practice" working with production. Creating production CNC programs (NX CAM experience required, or equivalent Solidworks/Edgecam) and proving out. Identify ways to reduce costs. Identifying project costs and agreeing control limits with Director, Global Operations & Custom Devices. Work closely and be proactive with Design Engineers in order to optimise designs for machining and assembly (DFM). Analysis of and solutions to problems relating to the machining process (eg, identifying weaknesses in these processes and initiating the appropriate actions). Collecting data and investigating non-conformances to initiate corrective actions to achieve the division's quality targets. Define maintenance and TPM plans ensure plant/equip is maintained/serviced in line with requirements. Supporting production on their daily targets and advise Production Team Leaders and setters/op to ensure smooth machining processes. Training others as and when required. Give support to and lead manufacturing engineering activities for identifying long term manufacturing strategies. Generating process documentation and maintaining it (PFMEA, control plans, flow charts and process documents e.g. layout etc.). Specifying designs for fixtures and tooling for in house or subcontract manufacture. Perform other manufacturing/production engineer activities as and when required.Qualifications, skills and desirable experience Ideally degree qualified with Manufacturing/production engineering experience, gained within a low to medium volume high quality CNC machining and assembly environment. Ideally have a background in jig and fixture design, including build and prove out.System and knowledge Able to work with IT systems and possess a good level of PC literacy. Experience of working in a Quality Environment Ideally experience of working within and implementing lean techniques Ideally experience of working with NX CAD and CAM packages (may consider Solidworks or EdgeCam) Ideally experience of 5 axis machining of complex surfacesPersonal attributes Team player Leadership skills Self-motivated and managed Good understanding of products and processes Planning skillsFor more information, please call Laith Mustafa on 0161 868 2231 or email
