Position: Laboratory TechnicianContract Length: 12 MonthsLocation: LeicestershireSalary: Up to £22,000 - dependent on experienceContact Andrew: 0121 222 5329SRG are currently looking to recruit for a Laboratory Technician to join a global pharmaceutical and healthcare company based in the Leicestershire area. As a Laboratory Technician you will be working within the QC department, carrying out a wide range of analytical tests on solid dose products. You will be working very closely with you exciting analytical experience, using key techniques such as HPLC, UV, IR and Karl Fischer. As a QC Analyst, you will be working within a GMP regulated environment, working independently with various techniques. You will support the development, research and quality control of process and products produced on site, ensuring that all products meet with company expectations. You will test pharmaceutical raw materials including components, packaging and finished products for batch release, stability, development studies and customer complaints in line with the site procedures. Also to represent the department as required to include external customers and regulators. 1. Safety Work in a safe manner taking responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.Participate in safety initiatives within Group.Actively raise APR's, DO's and MI's2. GMP Follow the 10 rules of GMP- See Section iv.Work to appropriate laboratory systems, standards and procedures, e.g. data recording, labelling, investigation and calibration procedures. Complete analytical documentation including the input of results onto the LIMS system.Maintain good laboratory housekeeping at all times.3. Training Maintain the documentation required for their role, including training record.Able to train others in analytical techniques, processes and systems having previously received training.4. Analytical Testing Perform analytical testing using methods where training has been received with minimal avoidable LIR's in order to meet scheduled timelines.Complete LIR investigations with support of experienced team member within required timeframe.5. Documentation and Change Control Have an understanding of the site documentation and change control systems.6. Team work and communication skills Able to work positively as part of a team and communicate effectively with Group and peers.7. Product / Equipment/ Process Knowledge Have a basic knowledge of the products / materials worked on.Responsible for the maintenance and calibration of basic laboratory equipment.8. Cross Functional Expertise Develop a basic understanding of the role of other functions within own value stream.9. Continuous Improvement Support continuous improvement activities within own group.10. Audit Have a general understanding of how to communicate with auditors and general employee expectations during an audit.Key Requirements- Hold a BSc within a pharmaceutically related subject, or something similar. - Strong understanding of Analytical testing and techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV, IR or Karl Fisher. - Familiarity of working within a regulatory environment such as GMP. - Computer literate with strong communication and time management skills
