Research Scientist - Microfluidics

An innovative IVD organisation in the Newcastle area are looking to recruit a Research Scientists to support across the development of their diagnostic platform. Working within a multi-functional group, this individual will be responsible for the development of IVD products.
The Research Scientist will lead on experimental design, working extensively on the design and execution of real-time pcr based assays. They will carry out assay design, bacterial culture, DNA/RNA extraction and fluorescence microscopy.
The successful research scientist will have a PhD in molecular or microbiology. They will have previous experience in molecular diagnostics, experience of developing IVDs would be advantageous, as would experience working with microfluidics or working on infectious disease diagnostics. Any knowledge of statistics or programming would be advantageous, especially programming in R, although this is not essential.
