Principle Scientist - AssaysBased in Cambridge, our global biotechnology client is hiring for a Principle Scientist to work within their Custom Service Team leading the development of new assay capacity.* Using scientific and technical lab-based background to support and guide the wider Customer Service Teams (Commercial, Project Management and Assays) to deliver tailor-made antibody projects within budget and on time for a variety of corporate and academic clients. * Using a patented antibody technology developed for the monoclonal market, you will contribute towards the discovery of various new antibodies which could be used in a range of applications including IHC and in-vitro diagnostics.Key role requirements:* Technical guidance and support for the monoclonal assay team, in particular on the development and screening. Particularly of interest will be your background in homogeneous biochemical and cell binding assay techniques (HTRF, Mirrorball, alphascreen). It would be beneficial to have a well-developed understanding of functional cell assays - reporter, factor release and flow cytometry.* Maximise the output for liquid handling automation for High-Throughput-Screening.* Technical support for project managers and the commercial team. Taking the role of New Project Manager - advising on the strategy to be employed for screening, demonstrating stats and evidence to support data-driven guidance to progress existing projects.* Mentoring the other members for the Custom Service assay Team.* Monitoring of budget and growth plans.* Support data management- accurate recording and analysis of data collected onto LIMS.* Living the GLP protocols -ensuring a safe and efficient lab for your colleagues and respecting Lab SOP's, working always within H&S policy. Person Specification:* Educated to PhD level or equivalent in Biological Sciences, along with demonstrable experience of the design and implantation of assay cascades. * You will be an expert in the field of high-through-put assay development for hybridomas.* You will have demonstrable background within the Commercial Biotech or Pharma industry. * You will bring to this role a solid practical understanding of homogeneous assay techniques (HTRF, alpha screen), at expert-level with functional assay development and with a wide knowledge of antiobody applications (IHC, ICC, Flow Cytometry, ChIP). * Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work in small and cohesive teams. * You will be a natural leader and excel in positions where your skill for mentoring and coaching is regularly used and relied upon.If this role sounds like it could be the next one for you, then please apply now by attaching your CV in Word along with a brief cover note outlining your relevance to this position.
