Job Title: Analytical Chemist - Emissions ControlLocation: HertfordshireContract type: PermanentSalary: Up to £27,000 per annum, dependent on experience Our client, a multi-national speciality chemicals organisation, are currently seeking an Analytical Chemist to join their Emission Control Division which support the supply of one third of catalytic converters in cars worldwide.Working within a new state-of-the-art laboratory, the chosen individual will support R&D through the analysis of prototypes, intermediate and finished catalyst products, with a focus on the quantification of elemental compositions using techniques such as ICP & XRF. This is a fantastic opportunity for an innovative Chemist within an interest in Catalytic, Materials & Analytical Chemistry to join a continually expanding business on a permanent basis. Key responsibilities: * Perform laboratory analysis using the latest analytical techniques & instrumentation* Develop methods for analysing new materials and validating results* Organising your own workload to ensure efficient use of equipment and meet customer deadlines* Interpretation of analytical data and preparation of technical reports/presentations* Be involved in solving technical problems to support the wider R&D division.Minimum requirements:* Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related science discipline* Prior industrial laboratory experience, with a sound knowledge of the principles behind analytical chemistry * A working knowledge of elemental analysis, including sample preparation * Pro-active and self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills* An ability to work to tight deadlines, possessing a flexible approach to working.SRG is the UK's number one recruitment company specialising in the scientific, engineering, clinical, pharmaceutical, food/FMCG, energy & renewables, biotech, chemical and medical device sectors.As scientists ourselves, our specialist sector knowledge and our passion are second to none.
