Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Medical Devices - Cheshire

To primarily implement long-term solutions and development design solution for existing Medical Device products within a world leading manufacturing organisation. An opportunity to play an active role in modern day medical diagnostics, with large scope for progression and future growth.

Responsibilities of Role:

- Develop design solutions for electro-mechanical Medical products- Use Creo Elements/Pro with Windchill to create, develop, store and control designs - Take a lead role in problem solving activity and design reviews with colleagues- Design and generate new concepts for products and sub-components- Carry out engineering calculations i.e. tolerance/stress tests - Carry out the implementation of agreed designs for release into the Production team, including High Level Assemblies and component design- Take part in product and process FEMA's- Manage in house and outsourced resources - Generate verification protocols for components and assemblies to test and validate alternative sources of manufacture or production- Implement and conduct testing protocols on components and assemblies. - Incorporate a broad understanding of manufacturing processes into the design work- Generate detailed documentation, specifications and design packages

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

- Good degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or similar field- Significant experience of engineering design is required with a HNC/HND Knowledge, Skills and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:

- Technically skilled and experienced- Track record in mechanical design and development- Strong analytical skills- Completed Design of automated systems- Design experience of machining, sheet metal, castings and mouldings components.- Design for assembly, cost and manufacturing skills - CAD skills (3D) ideally Windchill

Desirable Experience:

- ProEngineer/Creo/Windchill experience - Experience with materials/pneumatics- Medical device experience- Verification and validation experience
