Purpose of the JobTo actively support the sites Drives and act as the site Responsible Person Electrically. With responsibility for ensuring compliance and for the sites HV system, working towards best practice standards.Dimensions This is a central engineering support function to the site within the Engineering Department. May undertake responsibility for leading a small team. Key Activities* Drive compliance and implement standards in the HV and LV systems.* Implementation of world class maintenance techniques.* Understand and promote a condition based maintenance philosophy.* Promote and educate others in the department about drives, control systems and HV.* Support the behaviour of working at the company, create positive synergies, sharing best practice and collaborating with colleagues outside of own sphere of business. * To always act and behave in a way compliant with all company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to values and behaviours, environmental health and safety, ethics and codes of conduct, as it is through living their values that they strengthen the culture of the business, and demonstrate their understanding of the Code of Business Principles. * Ensure full participation in the performance development review (PDR) process and maintain an up to date record of all training and development activities/programs for self and for direct reports. * Ensure regular reviews of team performance and development needs to enhance performance and capability; driving motivation and engagement in accordance with the company values.Qualifications and Experience* Educated to HNC or equivalent level of experience, acquired through Process Industry within an engineering discipline.* Formal engineering background with a broad understanding of complex engineering and processes. * Experience as, or ability to attain, Approved Person and then Senior Approved Person status (HV)* High Voltage (11kV) Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status or have ability to attain competence to these levels* Demonstrable ability to apply numerical and analytical skills to diagnostic information.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to share knowledge and develop understanding in Continuous Improvement of drives and systems.* Ability to understand and interpret engineering plant condition through diagnostic tools.* Understanding and ability to promote a Customer/Supplier working philosophy.* Detailed knowledge and appreciation of Health and Safety within an engineering and manufacturing environment.* Knowledge and appreciation of Environmental Management and its importance within a manufacturing environment. * Ability to apply and communicate requirements of BS7671 (17th Edition Wiring Regulations) from design to test and inspection * Computer literacy (CMMS and MS products).* Working knowledge of the following:1. 'Electricity at Work Regulation 1989'2. BS6423 'Code of Practice for Maintenance of LV switchgear' its associated Standards and EN60204 for Control panels3. PUWER 'Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations' particularly with reference associated Electrical and Control Standards* Knowledge of:1. Electricity at work safe working practices HSG85 2. BS6626 Code of Practice 'Maintenance of electrical switchgear 1kV to 36kV'* Awareness of paper manufacturing process plant operations.* People management experience desirable.Ideally they would like the new position holder to have all the above technical attributes and experience. Candidates with proven experience in either Drives and controls, or HV, who can demonstrate an understanding of the other and a willingness to take on the challenge to develop will be considered.
