Analytical Chemist required, based in North Cheshire. Requiring demonstrable experience of using, troubleshooting and maintaining LC-MS or GC-MS instrumentation in a working laboratory environment.

Salary: £21,000 - £23,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

SRG is working with an increasingly successful business who specialise in developing water treatment for a range of industries. As a result of their continued growth, they are now looking to hire an experienced Analytical Chemist to join their team in North Cheshire. The role will involve conducting analysis on customer water samples, predominantly using LC-MS and GC-MS. The position would be well suited to someone with proven hands-on experience using LC or GC in conjunction with mass spectrometry, as well as practical knowledge of troubleshooting or maintaining this instrumentation.

Role / Description

  • Analysis of samples using LC-MS, GC-MS, HPLC, GC-FID, TOC, UV-spectrophotometer
  • Organising and prioritising workloads to effectively meet deadlines
  • Processing and interpretation of analytical results.
  • Performing maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation to minimise downtime
  • Method validation and development as required.
  • Conducting small scale product trials on water samples as required
  • Sample preparation where required.

Requirements

  • Minimum degree in Chemistry or relevant discipline
  • Proven, hands-on experience using LC-MS or GC-MS
  • Previous experience of troubleshooting and maintenance LC-MS or GC-MS instrumentation
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Willing to take initiative and work independently, whilst demonstrating strong team spirit
