Associate Scientist Ware - Hertfordshire

SRG are a strategic recruitment partner to a global pharmaceutical company who are looking for an Associate Scientist to join their Inhaled Drug Product Design and Development team in Ware (Hertfordshire). As an Associate Scientist, you will have the opportunity to work on the development of products such as DPI, intranasal and OSD presentations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support experimental studies to increase product / process knowledge
  • Execute experimental studies based on established protocols in a timely manner in compliance with GMP and company requirements
  • Collate and analyse results from experimental work and/or from process trending
  • Support of evaluating product feasibility, through to designing and manufacturing products for clinical trials
  • Recognise and highlight when problems occur and contribute to problem solving and continuous improvement activities

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor's Level Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical engineering or equivalent
  • Articulate communicator both written and orally
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy
  • Able to plan and execute packages of experimental work
  • Able to use computers for data collation, processing and reporting of results
  • Work to high quality standards and GMP following suitable training
  • Good interpersonal and team working skills
  • Ability to prioritise own workload to ensure deadlines are met

Preferred qualifications

  • Excellent numeracy and literacy
  • Articulate communicator both written and orally
  • Experience in presenting data to a scientific audience
  • Good organisational and planning abilities with strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to draw conclusions from experimental data and derive next steps
  • Understanding of the drug development process and the necessity of formulation development in pharmaceutical research and development
  • An understanding of the science and experience in the development of inhaled products
  • Experience of working in a formulation or process development team within the pharmaceutical industry is beneficial though not essential.
