Title: HSE ManagerLocation: Greater ManchesterSalary: Up to £45,000 dependant on experienceSRG is working with an international organisation manufacturing a range of speciality chemicals used for a variety of industries.Due to their continued success they have a newly created role for a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to be responsible for driving cultural change with regards to the implementation and sustainability of health, safety and environmental activities within the business. The successful individual will be based in Lancashire across two sites and will have an HSE background in industrial chemical manufacturing and the gravitas and charisma to be able to deliver cultural change initiatives across the two key sites.BenefitsThis role offers excellent long term career prospects within a company that is going through an exciting period of change and growth, a company share scheme, holidays rising with service, childcare vouchers and pension scheme. 37 hours per weekThe role:* Consolidation and management of HSE systems implementing group policy and procedures across 2 sites - both with small manufacturing functions* To monitor, evaluate and review existing and new environmental, health and safety legislation ensuring compliance.* Ensuring compliance with internal health and safety policies/strategies and conducting safety audits to ensure safe working practices.* Providing Induction training for new employees and annual refresher H&S training for existing employees.* Undertaking risk assessments and reporting any corrective, preventative actions to management.* Controlling the permit to work system including providing contractors with on-site Induction training.* Controlling, maintaining and improving COSHH risk assessments.* Controlling the accident/incident reporting system including trending.* Liaising with specialist bodies such as the HSE and Environment Agency.
The main requirements for this role are:
* Knowledge/experience of industrial chemical manufacturing/COMAH - essential requirement* Ability to create a HSE vision and strategy, implement it and influence others to follow through* NEBOSH certified or already working towards* Detailed knowledge and understanding of current Health, Safety and Environment legislation and requirements* Internal auditing experience (ISO14001 auditor)* CDM experience advantageous
