Quality Assurance Technician

My client are a family owned company, based in the West Midlands, and produce 10s of thousands of tons of product per year, using fresh, natural ingredients, sourced from exotic locations around the world. Their recipes are developed by highly-trained chefs, and they have the capacity to develop new products, handle high volume and high speed manufacturing, as well as process finished products and materials in high volumes. They operate a friendly atmosphere and maintain personal, friendly relationships with both customers and suppliers alike. They are seeking a QA Tech to play a key role in their operations.

PURPOSE:

To drive delivery and continual improvement in relation to consistent product quality and best practice food production standards

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage internal audit schedule, carry out allocated internal audits as scheduled
  • Carry out unit internal calibration
  • Assist with complaints investigation
  • Collate paperwork and ensure they are verified before submitting for scanning
  • Manage HACCP meeting/review schedule and circulate minutes
  • Sample collection for relevant testing (product, environmental, allergen)
  • Assist process technology with process validations
  • Liaise with engineers re water samples
  • Log results and trend ready for monthly report
  • Management of Ecolab and chase corrective actions
  • GMP inspections
  • Glass/hard plastic inspections
  • Support QC team on the factory floor
  • Verify process control checks carried out on the factory floor
  • Raw material sampling schedule
  • Running of taste panels

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Industry recognised food technical qualification - HND/Degree or equivalent or relevant working experience
  • Experience in internal auditing
  • Minimum of HACCP L2 desirable
  • Minimum 2 Years food industry experience
