SRG are currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our Synergy Division, leading varied, implanted teams performing services into the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. These teams cover a broad range of functions including laboratory stewarding, analytical and quality testing through to product development, and are delivered as defined statements of work on a customer site.

The Operations Manager will be deliver a high quality service to our customers whilst also supporting Synergy sales and growth with technical knowledge and relationship building. You will be a people-centric leader with the ability to direct, train and support diverse project groups and will offer hands on technical support and troubleshooting where required. Therefore, technical experience of QA, QC and method development, with additional abilities in auditing and running a lab or a lab based team, is essential.
On a day to day basis, your primary duties will include, amongst other things:
- Definition and implementation of strategy, whilst ensuring all KPI's and client targets are met
- Leading diverse teams on client sites, with additional responsibility for their Quality Management Systems and overall compliance
- Assisting in worker recruitment, training, personal development and their more general management (career development, integration, performance management etc.)
- Assisting the commercial team to drive new business by managing key customer contacts
- Supporting evaluation of feasibility and risk for any new projects, in order to ensure realistic delivery timelines and consistent quality.
The ideal candidate will be a scientist by education, who has a background in a commercial services company such as a CRO or CMO. Your experience will cover lab working within cGMP/UKAs systems, meaning you'll have a high appreciation for Quality and regulations in a pharma/healthcare context. You will be an excellent team player but also able to prioritise and manage your workload independently. You will be a creative and technically minded problem-solver. Degree level qualifications in a related discipline such as chemistry, biochemistry or pharmaceutical technologies (or commensurate experience) is essential.
The existing Synergy team works remotely from home bases, which is the ideal option for this position. You will likely spend 3/5 days travelling, with client sites at opposite ends of the country. Synergy currently operates primarily in the UK, but is expanding globally. Therefore, bilingual candidates and those willing to travel internationally will also be looked upon favourably.
