Graduate Laboratory Analyst required, based in Greater Manchester - North. Requiring a degree in Chemistry with good time management skills, attention to detail and a genuine willingness to learn.

SRG is working exclusively with a business operating independently in Greater Manchester, backed with global ownership and support. The company specialise in the manufacture of disinfectant and hygiene chemicals and as a result of recent positive changes, they are looking to hire a Graduate Laboratory Analyst to join their small but very busy technical team. The successful individual will have graduated recently or be finishing their degree this year, and have gained a range of wet chemistry skills from their course. If you are enthusiastic, with strong practical skills and an interest in analytical chemistry, this would be the ideal role.

Benefits: Well established and growing company offering an opportunity to gain hand-son experience in a fast paced analytical laboratory, with future potential to get involved in R&D. Working hours of 9am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. 20 days holiday (increasing with length of service), plus 8 statutory days.

Role / Description:

  • Analysis of raw materials and finished products - titrations, pH, viscosity testing
  • Sample preparation
  • Analysis of environmental and used samples
  • Maintenance and calibration of lab equipment
  • Accurate recording of results
  • Ordering laboratory consumables
  • Ad hoc support with R&D - training on formulations provided for future development projects
  • Working to ISO 9001
  • Keeping the laboratory clean and tidy

Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemistry or similar
  • Strong wet chemistry skills gained from university or working laboratories
  • Ability to interpret results from analysis
  • Enthusiastic, with a good work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Team player, with good attention to detail

This role would be an excellent opportunity for a recent Chemistry graduate or perhaps a Chemistry student who is due to graduate this summer.
