My client is a leader in drug discovery and development based in Cambridgeshire, specialising in small molecule drug discovery utilising a novel screening system. They have a pipeline of novel molecules at various stages of the drug discovery process. They are seeking a Drug Discovery Scientist to help develop cell-based assays for drug screening and target validation experiments.
-Deliver expertise in the area of cell based assay development and target validation
-Generate, optimise, and validate cell based assays to further the drug discovery and target validation projects
-Communicate across various teams within the company to ensure assays are developed in a timely manner
-Actively propose novel technologies and therapeutic areas
-PhD in a Biological science, or a BSc/MSc with significant experience in drug discovery, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors (E)
-Experience in the design, develop, and optimisation cell based assays for compound testing as part of the drug discovery cascade (E)
-A broad experience of a wide range of assays for a wide range of targets (E)
-Experience in liaising with chemistry teams for delivering data sets (D)
-Experience working with external collaborators (D)
