Laboratory Technician required on a temporary basis, located in Merseyside. Requiring good mathematical skills (evidenced by qualifications, e.g. A-Level, BTEC) and ideally previous experience of using industrial machinery.
Title: Laboratory Technician
Salary: £19,000 - £20,000 per annum
3 month temporary contract
SRG is working with a market leader in the manufacture of colour products and specialised additives. As a result of increased demand over the summer months, they are now looking to add a Lab Technician to their team. The role would be ideal for a BTEC or A-Level qualified individual with strong maths and IT skills, accustomed to using industrial machinery.
Benefits: Immediate start, weekly paid role with a global company working in a busy industrial laboratory. Offering 20 days' annual holiday allowance, plus 8 statutory days. Working hours of 42.5 hours, worked from 9am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with a paid 30 minute lunch.
Role / Description
- Supporting the team leader with various formulations
- Weighing raw materials in accordance with colour recipes/formulas accurately at bench scale (approx. 150g)
- Operating and using pilot scale moulding machines to test each colour in plaques
- Using a spectrophotometer to measure samples against standards
- Correcting recipe, as required
- Recording work in lab notebook
- Immediate availability
- Strong mathematical and IT skills, evidenced by qualification or experience
- High level of accuracy
- Willing and able to operate and use industrial machinery
This role would be an excellent opportunity for an individual with technical or mathematical aptitude or previous experience using industrial machinery or equipment.
