As a result of their continued success, they are looking for an Analytical Team Manager to manage an analytical team and provide a specilaised analytical chemistry resource to meet current and future business needs. The successful individual will be responsible for leading people and managing the day to day operations of the team. Reporting to the Head of Laboratories, the successful individual will be responsible for managing the delivery and execution of raw material testing, in process product testing, finished product testing and environmental testing. The successful individual will be able to demonstrate a strong background of people management and analytical chemistry.jeBenefits:Working 36 hours Monday to Friday (days), flexible holiday benefit with 26.5 basic, a further 8 available on their flexible scheme (or 5 taken as cash) + 8 public holidays, healthcare scheme, bonus scheme, excellent pension.* People - To lead, develop and motivate staff within the team to reach the required performance and competency levels, able to motivate, lead, create vision and undertake regular performance reviews and appraisals* Technical - To lead the analytical testing for all commercial products using a very wide variety of techniques including but not limited to: GC, ICP-OES, Atomic Absorption, MS, Density, Colour and a whole range of wet chemistry techniques, titrations etc. You will get the chance to learn some rarer techniques such as Atomic Flow Spectrometry and Polarography* Customers- To deliver high quality analysis and documentation to meet the commercial timelines and technical advice to find solutions to problems* Quality - To ensure the correct standards are followed, take responsibility for fronting internal and external QC audits. * Safety - To ensure that all site safety standards are followed and that staff are fully trained to undertake the tasks assigned to them.* Peer Relationships - To build and maintain key relationships within the analytical teams and other departments* Continuous Improvement - Will drive improvements throughout the Analytical Team Requirements:* Proven background in people management.* Strong, hands on experience of Analytical Chemistry with of GC and Wet Chemistry.* A relevant science degree is preferred or qualified through experienceSRG are the UK number 1 recruitment company specialising in the science, engineering, clinical, pharmaceutical, food/FMCG, renewable, biotech, chemicals and medical devices sectors.
