Development Scientist (Cell Culture/6 month temporary)
Do you hold strong experience within Cell Culture in addition to Cell Maintenance and Assay execution? Do you hold experience in the use of Bioreactors, and looking for an opportunity to work on innovative development projects within Bioreactor and Cell Culture systems?
My client based in the Cambridgeshire area works on the development of innovative laboratory technology, both the systems and the scientific reagents, kits and consumables that are utilised with these instruments.
My client is currently seeking a temporary Development Scientist to assist with the development of reagents and assay kits utilised within Cell Culture systems.
Reporting to the Senior Scientist, candidates will assist in the testing of reagents and consumables through utilising mammalian cell culture and biochemical assays. Candidates will also work on the development of new assays and take forward development projects.
The main responsibilities of this role will include:
* Preparation of materials for the testing of reagents, consumables, and assay kits.
* Biochemical assay development, validation, and assay execution.
* Execution of trials of products on test rigs and automated culture systems
* Mammalian cell culture for use during trials
* Execution of reagent quality control procedures.
* Preparation of SOP's.
* Clear presentation of data and reporting of key trial findings.
To be considered for the Development Scientist opportunity, candidates will hold some industry based experience working within the area of Mammalian Cell Culture and the execution of Biochemical Assays. It is essential that candidates have experience in the use of Bioreactors; this can be desk top Bioreactors or larger scale bioreactors. Candidates will also hold some experience within other general Cell Biology techniques. Candidates will be at a further advantage if you hold experience in Cell Imaging, the use of automated platforms or the use of plate readers.
Candidates at different levels will be considered for this opportunity (Bachelors, Masters, or PhD - or equivalents). Those candidates without a PhD must have some industry experience within the relevant areas outlined above.
This role is an urgent requirement and as such candidates should be available for a start in the very near future, and the role is anticipated to last for approximately 6 months with likely potential for extension.
