Do you have extensive experience in medium to large scale extraction, purification, separation, and crystallisation of natural compounds? Do you have a broad range of experience in analysing natural products through chemical fingerprinting and compound ID? SRG are operating on behalf of an innovative company who are looking to establish and build a production facility, in Norfolk, for pharmaceutical crops which would then be used for research purposes. They are looking to hire an extraction manager to oversee the post-harvest processing of the pharmaceutical crops, responsibilities include:
- Generating chemical documentation and processes for natural product isolation and characterization, including quality insurance documentation and SOPs (e.g. GMP/ISO etc)
- Working alongside senior management and design partners to build a state of the art extraction and production facility for pharmaceutical crops (medical cannabis) with a processing capacity of 20-45 tonnes per day.
- Plan and execute experiments to support the development of products, formulations, applications, and knowledge
- You will also be required to work with senior management to identify and build an extraction team
In order to be successful in this role you will ideally have an MSc or PhD (or equivalent) in the area of Chemistry along with expertise in medium to large scale extraction, purification, separation, and crystallisation of natural compounds. A broad experience in analytical techniques such as LC-MS, GC, and NMR is also required along with experience in the development of SOPs, and knowledge in developing and implementing GMP, GLP, and Quality Manuals.
