Food Technologist (Gluten Free)

Gateshead, North East

Salary £25,000-£30,000

A reputable food manufacturing company, based in the North East, is looking to hire a Food Technologist, with knowledge of gluten free products, to join their team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will act as the Gluten Free expert for the company in question. They will use their knowledge to help improve processes, quality, safety and new product development.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain product safety through risk assessment
  • Understand the potential for alternative ingredients in free from products
  • Review all stages of the company's gluten free production and recommend actions and changes that will ensure / improve product safety and quality
  • Understand the baking technology and technical requirements for sweet and savoury baked products

The ideal Food Technologist will have a solid background in gluten free / free from products. They will have a good understanding of baking techniques and knowledge of risk assessment as applied in allergen management. They will also have experience of new product development processes and some knowledge of alternative ingredients of baking processes.
