Mechanical Design Engineer -Multiple Vacancies - Salary dependant on experience-Pencoed-Responsible to - Manager Mechanical Design EngineeringAre you a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in the medical device or injection mouldingindustries and looking for a new challenge? Our client is at the forefront of self-monitoring healthcare, allowing people to manage demands on their health easily and discreetly and you will be helping to develop the next wave of technology. Job Purpose and Primary Objective To work on and improve the mechanical design and development of existing and future product platforms within the company. Roles and Responsibilities * To provide technical guidance and direction in new product design and continuous improvement* Develop new product offerings to meet the requirements of the commercial team and market place* Ensure adherence to technical standards for product development and design operations* Assist the manufacturing department in all areas of production and continuous improvement of processes* Ensure the optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet the business and customer requirements of product platform developments* Ensure the planning and execution of development projects are carried out in conformance with the quality management system* Assist in the decision making of third party suppliers for Engineering Resources (Injection moulding etc)* Manage third party suppliers to ensure deadlines are met and project plans run smoothly* Ensure own compliance with health and safety regulationsRelavent Skills and Experience* Product design engineering, includingo 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorkso Mechanism design o Tolerance analysiso Detail design of injection moulded and other componentso Generation of specifications, risk assessments, reportso 'Hands-on' mechanical experience including test developmentDesirable:* Experience within the medical device arena or experience wit* Experience working within regulated environment (e.g. ISO 13485, etc)* Experience of dealing with suppliers and customers at a technical levelYou will be degree educated in Mechanical or Medical engineering or a related discipline.
