DMPK Principle Scientist

This is a hugely interesting and integral role which supports the advancement of AI in the field of drug discovery through the characterisation of drug molecules using data to hasten identification of molecules for use in clinical study.

Key role requirements will include, but are not limited to:

  • You will have responsibility for the design, running and reporting of ADME and PK studies and interrogation of result findings
  • This is a bench role - you will be expected to balance lab time with project support duties - constant liaison with the medicinal chemists and other functions of the business to plan and manage studies
  • Maintaining a cohesive relationship with the DMPK team to schedule in-house projects and maintain a good balance with outsourced external studies
  • Immerse yourself in the multi-disciplinary team of scientists, providing advice and guidance in interpretation of data to assist the team in identifying best molecules to progress
  • Develop a strong understanding of study rational, medicinal chemistry and target biology
  • Strong demonstrable background in working with ADME properties, human dose prediction, IVIVC, appreciation of PBPK, working with safety margins, ability to adapt study designs, candidate profiling for pre-clinical development and awareness of regulatory requirements
  • Your background and skills:
  • PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biology or a related discipline (BSc and MSc considered with strong and relevant industry background)
  • Good, proven background in Lead Optimisation and preclinical development within DMPK
  • Clear and relevant appreciation of bioanalytical methodology and pharmacokinetic data
  • Relevant modelling around PK/PD relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable, dependable and solutions-focused in your approach, collaborative and engaging
  • It would be preferable to have some supervisory experience though not essential
