My client are a and growing organisation, employing leading scientists from around the world. Due to continued growth they have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Scientist to join the Clinical Support Team in their Histocompatibility Laboratories. Their Laboratory supports four of the UK's largest HSCT programmes and works in partnership with a major London hospital, facilitating their renal transplant programme and disease association testing. This is in addition to supporting their register of unrelated adult and cord donors.
The successful candidate will join our friendly team of Clinical Scientists, producing work of the highest standard as they rotate into the various sections within the working laboratory. In return you will work at the forefront of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (H&I), gaining expertise on a wide variety of techniques whilst developing your skills and furthering your knowledge.
In this exciting role you will be expected to use your clinical expertise in the interpretation and authorisation of HLA, virology and blood grouping results. Your skills will be required to oversee validations, verifications as well as providing troubleshooting support when required.
Working within a laboratory that promotes the highest standards, you will be required to author quality documentation including raising and investigating non-conformances. All Clinical Scientists are required to participate in the urgent rota for cord verification requests.
You'll also be joining the wider team of people doing great things to change the lives of people with cancer. Whether you're working in research, labs, fundraising, finance, etc., you'll have the chance to contribute to projects and activities both professionally and socially.
The ideal candidate will have obtained HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist or Biomedical Scientist with a specialist diploma in H&I. Candidates post BSHI working towards HCPC will be considered.
