Job Title: In vitro Scientist (R&D)
Duration: 6 month and 12 month contracts available: with a view to extension
Salary: £43,000 to £52,000 per annum depending on experience
SRG are working with a Global Pharmaceutical Company who are looking for an In vitro scientist to join their Hepatic Safety & ADME team (Drug Safety and Metabolism department).
* Designing in vitro experiments in relation to the liver-target-organ strategy across the toxicology portfolio* Develop expert knowledge and practical capabilities in investigating drug metabolism using appropriate biomarkers* Validation of novel physiological hepatic models including flow-based microphysiological systems such as organ-on-a-chip technology* Performing cell-based assays and culturing cells as 2D and 3D spheroid models* Analyse, interpret and share data and results with fellow scientists within the team
* PhD level education (or MSc + extensive experience) in Toxicology, Pharmacology or scientifically relevant field* Experience with designing and executing in vitro molecular and biochemical experiments to determine therapeutic effects on biological systems and models (ideally liver biology)* Strong understanding and practical application of Toxicology research* Prior familiarity of performing 3D cell culture or microphysiological systems (desirable)* Ability to collaborate well with other scientists and colleagues * An awareness of novel in vitro methods developed through actively reading literature and networking
