Are you a Senior Scientist that can provide strong scientific leadership to customers both internally and externally?

Are you an experienced biologist with an interest in drug development?

They strive to make a difference to people's everyday lives by bringing essential products to the market and as a Director of Biopharmaceutical Development you will play an essential part in making this happen. You will support the development of novel biologics with a strong focus on products such as monoclonal antibodies and vaccines, but including others such as recombinant proteins / peptides, oligonucleotides, gene and cell therapies.

The job holder will work with external customers and operational departments within the business to assist in the flawless execution of biologics studies.

The job holder will be a key resource for, in particular, the Business Development, Toxicology, Bioanalytical and Pharmacology groups. The job holder is also expected to take a key role in assisting the business in developing the services it needs to support customers developing biologics, this will require interaction with the Marketing group.

This is a very exciting senior role that will require matrix relationships with divisional director and heads of departments in all areas of the business

Attending conferences and meetings worldwide in the development of their services

Skills and experience required:

  • An expert in biologics therapeutic development
  • Demonstrated skills in scientific collaborations and good publication record in peer reviewed journals
  • Demonstrable experience in managing research projects in an academic or industry environment
  • Proficiency in overseeing the design and running of biopharmaceutical development projects
  • Strong external and internal scientific credibility
  • A proven history of management skills in project delivery
  • A doctorate in Immunology is preferred but not essential
  • High level understanding of biopharmaceuticals, vaccines, advanced therapies and other chemicals. Good public speaker
  • Good coach/mentor
  • A proven history of management skills in project delivery
