Operations ManagerPermanent - £50-70K DOE +benefitsManchesterChemicals Industry

SRG are working exclusively with a Chemicals Manufacturer based in Manchester who are looking for an Operations Manager. The company have gone through a period of change and growth, and the previous incumbent's retirement is timed well to coincide with the new hire to be able to drive the next period of significant growth in terms of both Product and Site development.

The role has full site and people responsibility, having direct and indirect reports within Technical / R+D, Engineering (Maintenance and Projects), Production, Packing, Distribution, and QHSE functions.

We are ideally looking for someone with formal Engineering / Scientific Qualifications (or similar) with substantial Manufacturing / Process Industry experience within a Chemical (CoMAH) or related industry. We need someone that is a pragmatic and direct leader, that is able to inspire and communicate at all levels.

Typical Operations Manager responsibilities:

  • Project Management over variety of improvement and development projects, including budget responsibility
  • HSE responsibility on site
  • Quality Control and use of Quality Management Systems
  • Working with the Planning / Scheduling of Sales / Raw Materials / Purchasing / Distribution departments
  • Working closely with Manufacturing to ensure levels and quality is maintained
  • Working closely with Engineering department to maintain availability of assets on site
  • Problem Solving and Efficiency improvements across the site
  • People Management and Training and Development of Staff

The role is very competitively salaried, with a good benefits package, and this is the most Senior position based on this site within the business.
