Laboratory Technician required, based in Greater Manchester. Requiring practical wet chemistry skills, a good work ethic and willingness to learn.

Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: £18,000 - £19,000 per annum

SRG is working successful manufacturer of hygiene chemicals, who are growing steadily and looking to expand the site in the near future. They are looking to hire a Laboratory Technician to join their small but busy technical team based in Greater Manchester. The role will predominantly involve wet chemistry testing for quality control of products, with occasional formulation work. The role would be ideal for someone with a background in Chemistry looking to find a laboratory-based role. Equally, it would suit someone who may have been out of the lab and is looking to return to work.

Benefits: Well established and growing company offering a permanent position with long term stability. Working hours of 9am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. 20 days holiday (increasing with length of service), plus 8 statutory days.

Role / Description

  • Analysing raw materials and finished products with wet chemistry techniques - titrations, pH, viscosity testing
  • Sample preparation
  • Analysis of environmental and used samples
  • Maintenance and calibration of lab equipment
  • Accurate recording of QC results
  • Ordering laboratory consumables
  • Supporting R&D work as needed
  • General laboratory housekeeping.

Requirements

  • Background in Chemistry - A Level, Degree OR previous chemical lab experience
  • Good practical wet chemistry skills - titrations, pH, etc.
  • Able to interpret results of analysis
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail and organised.
