Role: Work Experience Opportunity

Summary

A work experience placement is currently available within AstraZeneca, a global pharmaceutical/biologics organisation in Cambridge. This role will provide a student studying towards their GCSEs or A Levels/equivalent with the opportunity to experience the workplace, explore further career options and enable them to develop both personally and professionally.

Key responsibilities

The placement will enable you to see the role that science plays as an integral function of the business and the skills that are required to follow a career in the pharmaceutical industry.You will work alongside scientists and/or experts in specific areas of the business as they undertake their day to day work. This will include experts in the Biology, Chemistry and Clinical functions.From this placement we anticipate that successful candidates will gain an appreciation of the wide range of science performed with the organisation.

Working hours for this unpaid work experience placement are 9.00 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. Successful candidates are expected to make their own way to the placement each day.

Applications must be made by those currently studying towards their GCSEs or A Levels/equivalent.

It is appreciated that you may have limited work experience, but you should be professional and eager to learn. To make the most of the experience, you will need a clear passion for sciences, business, whilst having a bright and inquisitive mind and outstanding interpersonal skills.
