Would you like to work for a leading stem cell research organisation?
My client is a leading research organisation, dedicated to the use of stem cells to create novel and effective cell based therapeutics and regenerative medicine technologies. Their technologies are constantly evolving and they are looking for a Laboratory Manager to take a key role in managing both lab based research scientists as well as the laboratory facility. The input the research team has leads to novel and improved processes and techniques.
The Laboratory Manager will conduct tissue culture and cell culture for validations as well as supervise a small team of cell biologists.
Taking the lead in ensuring a safe, high quality environment you will manage support staff, and work closely with staff at various levels within the organisation and externally. Your advice will inform decisions regarding effective use of laboratory space, equipment and general consumable purchases, as well as training and health and safety processes.
In addition to seeing that the labs are well-supplied, well-maintained, and that individuals have received appropriate training to be considered competent in the lab. The Lab Manager will maintain the lab to high quality standards, including managing SOPs, equipment maintenance and validation.
To be considered for the Laboratory Manager role you'll need the following skills and experience;
- A biological degree, MSc or PhD - in Cell Biology, Biomedical Science, Molecular Biology, Applied Biology, Pharmacology,
- Demonstrable experience of managing a team, including experience of maintaining a lab to high quality standards including managing SOPs, equipment maintenance and validations.
- Hands on cell culture experience
- Experience in an HTA regulated facility would be an advantage
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem solving skills are essential.
