R&D Analyst Level I

Synergy is recruiting an R&D Analyst to be based at a leading global generic and specialty pharmaceutical company in Kent. Synergy provides on-site laboratory services for companies by embedding staff within the client's organization. You will be employed by Synergy but be based on a day-to-day basis at the client's facility.
*Support the development and understanding of raw materials used in various inhaled pharmaceutical products and other dosage forms.
*Characterise the physical and chemical properties of drug substances and excipients to understand batch variability, stability and impact on drug product performance including tests such as particle size analysis and calorimetry.Performs planned experimentation
*Carry out analytical activities required to deliver new products to clinical studies and commercialisation.
*Execute experiments to generate scientific understanding for the development of analytical methods, formulations and processes.
*Perform analyses related to clinical supplies, stability, and process scale-up.
*Process data; highlight aberrant or suspect results and work with supervisor to investigate and write related data report.
*Maintain laboratory documentation in accordance with cGMP documentation practices.
*Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation.
*Contribute to project delivery by carrying out other tasks (e.g. laboratory housekeeping, ordering, shipping samples) as required.
*Make sure all applicable policies and procedures are respected, including those relating to EHS, GMP, GCP, Quality, and Compliance, consistent with the role and any associated responsibilities.
*Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the grade of the role
*Maintain working relationships with internal stakeholders (Compliance, EHS, Quality on-site or at other sites) and with external stakeholders (such as contract laboratories).
Specific professional/technical expertise and key skills required:
*Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, preferably analytical chemistry or materials science
*Key technical background: a good knowledge and experience of GMP in the pharmaceutical industry
*Area of expertise should include particle size analysis and/or other solid-state characterisation techniques such as :
*SEM (scanning electron microscopy),
*SSA (specific surface area)
Specific skills: *Team player
*Compliant/rigorous (understands the importance of following procedures in detail)
*Effective verbal and written communication skills.
*Enthusiasm to work in a laboratory-based role.
