Position: Automation Engineer

Location: Oxford

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £30k - 45k Depending on experience

SRG are looking for an Automation Engineer to join a growing SME at the cutting edge of manufacturing technology. The company are made up of a diverse team of engineers working on the next generation of Manufacturing Technology. The company are regarded as a world leader in their field so innovation and development lie at the core of their business.

The position sits within the companies Engineering department where they develop new electro / mechanical (Mechatronic) manufacturing equipment. The role of the Automation Engineer will be to work closely with inspection and assembly teams on the facility to design and maintain new systems for their areas.

As an SME much of the assembly and testing of the company's products is done by hand or in small batches. The Automation Engineer will have the opportunity to improve and automate a variety of processes on the facility to increase production and reduce downtime.

This will revolve around the design and programing of Electromechanical systems including Test rigs and development of traceability / serialisation systems using both microcontrollers and PLC's. Prior experience of systems and controls, actuators / motion control systems, HMI and Part conveyance is therefore desirable.

You will need to be:

  • HNC /HND / Degree qualified or equivalent Within Automation or Control engineering / Or industrial experience in these fields.
  • Experience of embedded systems programming or PLC control system architecture.
  • Experience in the development of Electromechanical systems for testing or production assembly.

Ideally you will have experience of:

  • Serialisation or Traceability knowledge
  • Experience of systems and controls, actuators / motion control systems, HMI and Part conveyance
  • Experience of automating existing processes
  • Programming / Coding experience
